A Message in a Bottle / January 2006
Dear Yavoh Reader,
This publication is free to all who want to receive it. Since our ministrys beginning in 1995, Yavoh He is Coming has been offered to encourage Messianic believers as a part of the greater Messianic movement. It has gone through a number of changes itself being first a four page monthly newsletter to it present state of 20 full color pages.
In recent years, Lion and Lamb Ministries even graduated to helping other Messianic ministries that were like minded. These have included Eddie Chumney of Hebraic Heritage Ministries International, Brad Scott of Wild Branch Ministries, and recently, Rico Cortez of Wisdom in the Torah Ministries and Glenn McWilliams of Torah Keepers. By helping, I mean we have helped with the audio production, packaging and distribution of their teaching programs.
Yavoh He is Coming has been the anchor point for this ministry for my teachings, our annual Camp Yeshua youth program and our annual Feast of Tabernacles observance in Oklahoma. If you have followed us for long, you have seen the growth and interest level rise each year. The subscription list has grown from 175 (first issue) to thousands today. We are thankful for all of this.
It has also been our experience to prune the subscription list (prune the tree) for optimum growth and interest. We put many new people on the subscription list because they sign up for themselves, they call up, or their friends or family put them on the list. We are happy to oblige. However, not everyone wants to keep getting the publication. They dont have time to read it. They dont agree with its content. They dont remember why they asked for it, etc.
So each year we try to come up with ingenious ways to trim the list to those who really want it. The time has come to do exactly that.
If you have purchased any product from Lion and Lamb Ministries or donated any gift within the last six months (Jun - Dec 2005), relax. You are going to receive this publication for the rest of 2006. However, if there has been no activity in that time period, then we are going to make a simple request.
To renew your free subscription of Yavoh He is Coming, you have a variety of ways to choose (as described in the printed issue). Let me explain those ways and how simple it is for to renew your free subscription.
The Order/Donation envelope enclosed in this issue
By using the enclosed envelope you may place an order for any item in the catalog. You can also choose to make a donation either by check or the credit card form on the order envelope. Or, you dont need to make an order or offer a donation at all, just send us the envelope. You will need to provide the stamp for that envelope and you will also have to put your name and return address on the envelope.
Special Subscription Renewal Card
Cut out the Special return Yes! I want to renew my free Subscription Card, found on the back cover of this issue. It already has our address and your address information printed on it, but you will need to still supply the stamp. If we get that card back, we will renew your free subscription for 2006.
Personal Letter or Card
If you wish, you can mail us a letter or a postcard of your choosing and you will automatically be renewed for 2006. We receive many encouraging notes of which we greatly appreciate. Each note is like a heart beat to us. You will have to supply the postage stamp and materials for your note or letter. Make sure to give us your name and address.
Computer and the Internet
But lets say that you dont have a stamp or that is too hard to do!!! We are plugged into the information age with computers and the world wide web of the internet. You can log onto our website at www.lionlamb.net. Go to the Yavoh page and sign up on line. You dont need a stamp at all, just your computer and access to the internet.
Telephone
But lets say that your computer is down or you dont have a computer and the internet. Just go to your telephone. Of course, most of you dont have telephones anymore you have cell phones. (Your son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter will definitely have one.) Call our office at (405) 447-4429 anytime. During office hours, a nice person will take your call and make sure that you are signed up for 2006. If it is not normal offices hours, our answering service will record your call and all you need to do is leave a message Yes! I would like to renew my free subscription! But remember to give us your name and address so we will know for sure who left the message. If you leave just your name, then every person on our data base with that name will be renewed.
Message in the Bottle
But lets say that you dont have a stamp, a computer or a telephone. Lets say that you are stranded on a deserted island with none of the normal forms of communication that most of the rest of the world has. Then, do the following. Take an old wine bottle, one with a cork, write on a piece of paper your name and the latitude and longitude of the deserted island you live on (a satellite photo and GPS coordinates will work). Place the paper, photo, maps, and coordinates into the bottle, cork it good, and then throw the bottle as far as you can out to sea. I doubt that the bottle will arrive at our office since you didnt give detailed instruction on how the person finding the bottle should notify us. But maybe, the bottle will be found and then you will be found and then you can use a stamp, your computer, or make a phone call.
Now if you are still reading this I hope it has registered with you that you need to renew your free subscription with us somehow. Dont forget. You know how those things happen. You get busy with this and that. Then the next thing you know, your not receiving the Yavoh because you forget to renew your free subscription. So show your spouse this funny reminder and maybe he/she will also say, Yes, I want to renew my free subscription! and youll figure out which method to use and actually do it real soon. Otherwise, Ill see you at some future teaching event and youll walk up to me and say, I used to get your Yavoh, but for some reason they stopped sending to me.
If you are an internet reader and you dont get the Yavoh in the mail, you can pretty much ignore all that has been said since I started sharing about the need to renew your free subscription.
Oh besides all this information about renewing your free subscription, I need to share one other policy shift that we are making effective this year for those receiving Yavoh in the mail. In the past, we have paid for the Return Service Requested from the post office. Anytime you moved or changed your mailing address, we paid for the Post Office to return your issue with your corrected address and we updated our data base. The cost of mailing it to you and then having it mailed back to us is killing us. So, here is our new policy.
We are happy to send the issue free, but if you change your address and dont notify us, then you will not receive the Yavoh anymore. You can ask the Post Office to forward it, but then you must pay the additional postage. Your free subscription will probably end unless you notify us of your new address. These are necessary steps to control growing costs.
This also gives me the opportunity to tell you about some other changes that are being made for 2006. In the past, we have published the issue with an article and a growing catalog each month. Beginning with this issue, the catalog part will be published quarterly in the January, April, July, and October issues. We will publish an article and other announcement items monthly.
As many of you know, the graphics in Yavoh have been increased in quality over the last couple of years. This is due to my son, Ephraim. We have watched each month his amazing skills at developing each issues cover and organizing the layout of the issue. There are other changes planned for future Yavohs and he will be instrumental in those.
By the way, I want to share with you some other things coming this year that you will want to look forward to. We are publishing a new edition of the our Haggadah for Passover. We are going to develop our own 16 month Calendar beginning with September of this year at Trumpets. I am committing to publishing a new book (Lord willing, available by Sukkot) entitled, Secrets of the Scribes. It will be a written review of the Jots and Tittles found in the Hebrew Scriptures. I hope it will serve as a starter reference for further study in the Scriptures. You will soon hear more about how you can order in advance with a discounted price. The Feast of Tabernacles is already on the drawing board and we are opening the program to more musicians and dancers. If you are interested in being a part of the 2006 Tabernacles program, contact us. See the previous list of ideas given on how you can contact us.
Thank you brethren. Thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, and your participation with us at this end of the age time. We are seeking God for our strength and wisdom to cause all that we do to be profitable for His kingdom. The struggle never ceases; we just learn to overcome more with His help.
and let us not forget Jerusalem.
